What Is Pickleball

ABOUT PICKLEBALL

Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two players or four players hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball with paddles over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits a rule infraction. Pickleball is played indoors and outdoors.

 

Free or low cost drop-in play for adults and Junior High/High school players. The courts are currently located at Detert Park and at Argonaut High School. Pickleball games are formed daily using  PLAYTIMESCHEDULER.COM. Sign up on Playtime and join or start a session at Detert Park during the weekday or evening.

 

There are four courts available at Detert and the gate entrance locked. Gate code can be obtained by calling/texting 1-209-419-3770 between the hours of 9am and 9pm.

 

On Sundays, the Amador County Recreation Authority (ACRA) has open play on 3 courts inside the Argonaut High School gym from 9am-noon. Cost is currently $5. Beginner lessons are often provided. Info regarding this location is also available on Playtimescheduler.com

 

Ladies Evening Pickleball ~ In 2023, the ladies have begun an open play on Wednesday evening at various start times as the seasons change. See Playtimescheduler.com for current times.
