Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two players or four players hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball with paddles over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits a rule infraction. Pickleball is played indoors and outdoors.
Free or low cost drop-in play for adults and Junior High/High school players. The courts are currently located at Detert Park and at Argonaut High School. Pickleball games are formed daily.
On Sundays, the Amador County Recreation Authority (ACRA) has open play on 3 courts inside the Argonaut High School gym from 9am-noon. Cost is currently $5. Beginner lessons are often provided.
